Create your first connector

Connectors are the data bridges between the SolarTools platform and your field hardware. This step, where the correct protocol and connection settings are configured to communicate with multiple devices via a gateway, forms the foundation of the data flow.

01

Gateway Selection

Select the physical Gateway hardware you will work on. The Connector uses these gateway resources.
02

Protocol Definition

Choose the protocol suitable for your device: Modbus TCP/RTU, MQTT, or HTTP.
03

Parameter Settings

Complete the installation by entering technical details such as connection period, port, and timeout.

Visual Implementation Guide

The following images show the interface steps and parameter entry fields you should follow when creating a Connector.

Pro Tip

When determining the data reading period (Polling Interval), consider the internet bandwidth at your facility and the number of devices. 1-5 seconds is ideal for critical data, while 15-60 seconds is sufficient for general monitoring.
