Add your first device profile and device

After creating your Connector structure, you can proceed to the stage of introducing your physical assets in the field (inverters, meters, sensors, etc.) to the platform. Each device transmits its data to the SolarTools Cloud via the Connector it is connected to.

Device Definition Workflow

Select Connector

Determine the data path the device is connected to.

New Device

Use the 'Add Device' button on the platform.

Configuration

Define Modbus ID and register addresses.

Save & Publish

Start the data flow by saving the settings.

Visual Interface Guide

The basic steps of the device addition process are visualized in the screenshots below. You can click on the images to enlarge them.

Technical Implementation Details

01

Device Type

Select from predefined library models such as Inverter, Energy Meter, or Weather Station.
02

Communication ID

Ensure you have entered the device's Slave ID correctly for Modbus RTU/TCP.
03

Data Tags

Determine which registers will be read and under which tags the data will be stored.

Data Integrity

When adding a device, ensure that the register addresses exactly match the manufacturer's documentation. Incorrect address entry may cause 'Invalid Address' errors or faulty data readings.
