Repeating Widget Settings

Learn about the configuration steps common to all widget types in one place. Widget name, monitoring interval, device selection, parameter mapping, and visual settings work the same way across every widget.

During widget configuration, you will encounter certain settings that are common to all widget types. Instead of repeating them in every widget documentation, we have gathered these common features here. Below you can explore each common step with accompanying screenshots.

📝

Widget Name

Set a unique name for each widget. This name appears as the card title on the dashboard.

⏱️

Monitoring Interval

Define the time window for displayed data: real-time, last 1 hour, last 24 hours, etc.

📱

Device Selection

Select the device from which the widget will pull data from your facility's device list.

🏷️

Parameter Selection

Determine which parameter (tag) of the selected device you want to monitor.

🎨

Visual Settings

Visual customization options including color, background, border, icon, unit, and font size.

🔄

Auto Data Refresh

Refresh interval setting that automatically updates the widget at defined intervals.

Widget Configuration Modal

The common configuration screen that opens when adding any widget

To add a widget, you follow the Category → Widget → Configuration steps. The configuration modal that opens at the last step is customized based on the widget type, but the basic fields are always the same.

Text Style

Adjusting the text size and spacing settings used inside the widget

Text style defines the font size and spacing settings of the texts inside the widget. In "Automatic" mode, text sizes are scaled according to the card size, while in "Manual" mode, fixed pixel values can be used for title, content, and value texts. With the "Compact", "Normal", and "Wide"presets, vertical and horizontal spacing can be adjusted quickly.

Monitoring Interval

Determine the time window for the data displayed by the widget

The monitoring interval defines the time window for the widget's data. With the "Real-Time" option, live values are shown; with options like "Last 1 Hour" or "Last 24 Hours", historical data is displayed. This setting is especially critical for chart and trend widgets.

Monitoring Interval Setting

⏱️Interval

The "Monitoring Interval" field located in the upper right area of the configuration modal. You can select from real-time or historical time options.

Tip: Choosing the Right Interval

For chart widgets, select "Last 1 Hour" or wider intervals to facilitate trend analysis. For single value cards, "Real-Time" mode shows the most current data.

Device Selection

Determine the device from which the widget will pull data

Every widget must be connected to at least one device. The Device Selection dropdown lists all devices defined in the facility. After selecting a device, its parameters (tags) are automatically loaded.

Device Selection

📱Device

When the "Device Selection" dropdown is opened, all devices defined in the facility are listed. Select the device you want to monitor to continue.

Parameter Selection

Determine which data from the selected device to monitor

After selecting a device, the Parameter Selection field becomes active. This dropdown lists all tags of the selected device (e.g., temperature, pressure, speed, current). You determine the specific data the widget will display from here.

Visual Settings

Color, unit, icon, and font size customizations

With visual settings common to all widgets, you can fully customize your card. These settings may vary slightly depending on the widget type, but the basic options are always the same.

🎨

Value Color

Set the text color of the value displayed in the widget. You can use hex color codes or the color palette.

🖼️

Background & Border

Adjust card background color, border color, and card opacity to create a look that matches your dashboard.

📏

Auto Data Refresh

Set the automatic update frequency for widget data

The Auto Data Refresh feature enables the widget to update itself at defined intervals. This way, you don't need to manually refresh the dashboard each time. You can set the refresh interval in seconds or minutes.

Auto Refresh

🔄Auto Refresh

The "Auto Data Refresh" field at the bottom of the configuration modal. You can set the On/Off state, duration value, and unit (Seconds/Minutes).

Tip: Refresh Frequency

Very frequent refreshing (e.g., every second) can increase network traffic. For most scenarios, a 1 minute refresh interval is ideal. For critical monitoring situations, you can choose 5-10 seconds.

Summary

The common settings on this page apply to all widget categories. Each widget's own documentation only covers settings unique to that type — for common steps, this page is referenced.
